Nail-Cutting

Age Concern Northwest Cumbria provides a simple nail-cutting service for older people who cannot cut their own nails. The service is provided by our nail-cutting assistants, who are trained to assist people in taking care of their nails and to provide basic advice on foot care. Regular treatments are given approximately every 8 weeks, depending on individual need.

There is a charge for this service.

Nail-Cutting Surgeries

We provide regular surgeries throughout Allerdale and Copeland in:

• Cleator Moor
• Cockermouth
• Distington
• Egremont
• Frizington
• Gosforth
• Maryport
• St Bees
• Whitehaven
• Wigton
• Workington

What we cannot provide?

This is a simple nail-cutting service. We are unable to provide:

• Help with foot care problems such as corns or bunions
• Nail-cutting for anyone with a medical condition such as diabetes or circulation problems
• Nail-cutting for anyone being treated with steroids or anti-coagulants

In these cases, we advise visiting a registered chiropodist.
