Donating Items & Furniture Collection/Delivery

We greatly appreciate all donations of clothing, bric-a-brac and furniture to our network of shops across Allerdale and Copeland. The money raised from donations is used locally to support our work, enabling us to provide vital services for older people in our community.

Where can you take your donations?

We have a network of 6 shops located in key areas across Allerdale and Copeland. (See Our Shops for details).

What items can we not accept?

To comply with Health and Safety legislation, we are unable to accept and sell certain items through our shops. Items we cannot accept are:-

  • Electrical goods
  • Gas or oil appliances
  • Cycles, toys & games without CE safety mark
  • Prams & car seats
  • Real fur coats and accessories
  • Crash helmets and riding hats
  • Children's footwear (except Wellington boots and slippers)
  • Earrings for pierced ears
  • Food or edible plants
  • Offensive weapons, including kitchen knives
  • Prescription spectacles
  • Nightwear without fire resistance labels.
  • Items of furniture which must carry a fire label.

Collections

We have a furniture van which operates throughout Allerdale and Copeland. To arrange a collection, please contact us (details below).

Deliveries

If you buy an item of furniture from our shop, we can arrange delivery to your home. There is a small charge for delivery. For details on charges and delivery times, please contact us at the number below.
